POSTINGNEWS.ID --- The East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) has successfully arrested nine individuals in connection with an alleged looting case in their area. Of the nine individuals, seven have been named as suspects, while two remain witnesses in the case.

The Head of the East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKBP Dicky Fertoffan, explained that the arrests were made after the Jatanras Unit conducted a thorough investigation. As a result, in addition to apprehending the suspects, police also seized several pieces of evidence, including a cat that was listed as stolen.

"We have successfully arrested nine individuals along with various pieces of evidence, including a cat," AKBP Dicky Fertoffan told disway.id on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. "Of the nine individuals, seven are suspects and two are witnesses."

Furthermore, AKBP Dicky added that the Jatanras Unit is still in the process of identifying the other looters. They are continuing their investigation to ensure the arrest of all parties involved in this crime.

Meanwhile, Senior Commissioner Alfian Nurrizal, East Jakarta Metro Police Chief, also provided information regarding the violent incident that occurred in the Uya Kuya area the previous Saturday night. Police managed to apprehend nine people suspected of involvement in the riot.

"Oh, Uya Kuya. The night before, we witnessed violent actions that seriously disturbed public order. Currently, nine people are still under investigation," Senior Commissioner Alfian told the media.

According to him, the perpetrators of the violent actions were not only local residents, but also came from other areas such as Bekasi and Priok. This situation has complicated matters and requires serious police action.
